The initial consultation
An implantation requires careful planning and preparation in all phases.
This is one of the reasons for the high reliability of this procedure.
After a clinical examination and a digital x-ray, we will plan the therapeutic process together with you.
If the tooth that is to be replaced is still in the jawbone and sufficient bone material is available, an immediate implantation can be planned. This means that the tooth will be extracted, and after the necessary preparations a root-shaped implant will be inserted into the same location.
If however the tooth has already been extracted, at least six to eight weeks time must be allowed for the wound to heal without infection. It will then be determined if sufficient bone is present for the procedure or if bone reconstruction is required.
The various possibilities for anesthesia will then be explained. The choice between all possible modern local anesthetics to general anesthesia is yours to make.
